Steven A. Smits is one of the founders and President of Patriot Taxiway Industries. He provides leadership, vision and management expertise in the area of manufacturing, plant maintenance, quality assurance and product development. He brings over 24 years of product manufacturing, development and customer service experience. Smits is responsible for the daily operations at Patriot Taxiway. Being a service disabled veteran, he has advocated recruiting veterans onto the Patriot team.
Smits severed over 31 years in the Wisconsin Air National Guard as Avionics Guidance and Control Craftsman for the 128th Air Refueling Wing. He is responsible for training and qualification of new airmen in Avionics career field on the KC-135 Stratotanker. During his military career, Smits was deployed supporting several major military operations including Operations Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Restore Hope (Somalia), Bosnia, Nobile Anvil (Kosovo), Enduring Freedom, and Iraqi Freedom. Smits has been awarded the Presidential unit citation with Valor (as part of the 128th Air Refueling Wing), the Air Force Achievement Medal (4 times), the National Defense Medal, the Armed Force Expeditionary Medal and the Southwest Asia Service Medal. He served as the Human Resource Advisor to the commander of the 128th Air Refueling Wing before returning to the Avionics section to train newly enlisted Air Force members.
Smits is a graduate of the United States Air Force Non Commissioned Officer Academy, Maxwell AFB Alabama. He is a graduate Human Resources Advisor Academy at Patrick AFB, Florida. Smits has earned an associate degree in Aircraft Electronics at Blackhawk Technical College Janesville WI. He also holds FCC License with Radar Endorsement. Smits is a member of the Air Force Sergeants Association (AFSA) and American Legion. He volunteers for Young Eagles Flights and Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA).
Kevin McDermott is one of the founders and Vice President of Business Development of Patriot Taxiway Industries. He provides leadership, vision and management expertise in the area of lighting product development, project management and corporate strategic planning. McDermott is responsible for developing and leading the execution of Patriot's business strategy including sales/marketing initiatives, channel development, and strategic partnerships. He brings over 25 years of product development experience, project management knowledge and hands on product qualification testing know how to aerospace and military standards.

McDermott earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Master Certificate in Project Management at the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
Phillip Walesa is the Director of Engineering for Patriot Taxiway Industries. He is responsible for Research & Development, Engineering and maintaining technical and functional excellence across the engineering group. Walesa is also responsible for program management with government agencies and major original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). He brings over 20 years of product development and project management experience in the Defense and Aerospace industry.
Walesa is a licensed Professional Engineer in Wisconsin, a Certified Project Management Professional and a Design for Six Sigma (DfSS) Blackbelt. He is a member of the Society of Aerospace Engineers (SAE), American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).
Walesa earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Minnesota.
Rommy Rowhani is the Vice President of Sales for Patriot Taxiway Industries. He provides management expertise in the areas of sales, marketing, and customer acquisition. Rowhani is responsible for the development and implementation of sales strategies, branding, and strategic partnership initiatives. Rowhani brings 20 years of experience in extensive sales, sales management and marketing in the consumer products and services industry. He has a proven track record for creating winning sales strategies for two major organizations.
Rowhani hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee.
